A devastating incident unfolded in Daura, Katsina State, on May 24, 2025, when a domestic dispute between two co-wives turned deadly. Rabi’a Labaran, 25, allegedly stabbed her co-wife, Zainab Lawal, 30, to death behind Dadi Primary School in the Sabon Gari area.
The altercation reportedly began as a heated argument, which escalated into a violent confrontation. Upon returning home from the market around 11 p.m., the husband, Nasir Yusuf, discovered Zainab’s lifeless body with multiple stab wounds. The police were promptly notified, and an investigation was launched.
Rabi’a Labaran was arrested and reportedly confessed to the crime, stating that the dispute turned physical.
