The Ugandan government has successfully ushered in New hands to superintendent over the affairs of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal respectively. This is in keeping with the best international and national legal practice as the last hope of the common man
Announcing this development, the President of Uganda, HE Yoweri Museveni, had on Friday revealed through his X account that his government will continue to encourage legal harmonization with African jurisprudence, saying that this is another mark of stability that characterizes the institutions of the State.
“Today’s introduction of judges of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal and the swearing-in of Justice Asa Mugenyi is another mark of stability that characterizes the institutions of the State. This is because people have gone through school, joined, and progressed through service while others are peacefully retiring.
“This cumulative and valuable human resource, for instance, in the case of the judiciary, allows for a harmonization with African jurisprudence. I congratulate the Judiciary, the appointed Judges, and their families”. the tweet stated.
